New volunteers are always welcome and at the moment we are looking for people willing to offer any of the following skills:
minibus driver (D1 licence or equivalent)
All things IT related from from simple office programmes to photo and music editing
Music, dance and drama, playing an instrument or leading a singalong with the karaoke machine. We plan to have a Zumba team at the Town show in 2012 and even put in an entry for the Zumbathon
cooking – both to help service users with their independent living skills or to bake something special for our open days
Crafts, art and modelling – still very popular with our service users young and old
Gardeners to help in our sensory and vegetable gardens
Service users volunteer each week at the Orchard Community Garden
Walks leaders with an interest in natural history or local history to help lead trips in the spring and summer
Befrienders and buddies (18-25), mentors, escorts and support workers – we have a range of openings to suit almost everyone
All volunteers will receive full training and support and will be required to undergo a CRB check
You will shortly be able to download our membership form and a volunteer application form from this site
Subscription is only £1.00 per year and we keep you in touch with a regular Newsletter and briefings by e-mail and of course the news updates on the website.
