Enfield Mencap provides a variety of services for adults during the day (Monday to Friday) and young people in transition from children’s to adult services in the early evening.
All our services are developed through a person-centred approach to planning, identifying an individual service user’s needs and aspirations.
The New Opportunity Centre provides services from our purpose-built centre in Edmonton, which is also the base from which we offer a wide range of supported services in the community. The Centre has a strong focus on independent living skills and has a dedicated kitchen as well as a range of education, leisure and craft activities.
Club 18+ does exactly what it says on the tin. This is an early-evening programme for young learning-disabled adults in transition from children’s to adult services. The Club presents a relaxed social environment in which young service users gain a range of life skills and have opportunities to develop friendships with their peers in a secure and supportive environment.
Transport Enfield Mencap has two minibuses, one adapted for wheelchair use, and a small people carrier which we can use to provide transport to and from The Centre and to access community activities during the day
Access to Enfield Mencap services
We welcome new service users with a personal budget and following an assessment and review we will be pleased to discuss appropriate services and fees. Service users whose funding continues to be provided through the local authority will need to have their application supported by their social worker or care manager.
The best way to find out what we do is to come and try us for a taster so please pop along to The New Opportunity Centre and chat to a member of staff about what is available.
